Pair of Griffins pick up weekly league awards
GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Senior John Drozdowski
(Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) and Grace Scully (Blackwood,
N.J./Triton) were named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Players
of the Week for April 18-24th.
Drozdowski, a second baseman for the baseball
team hit .481 (13-of-27) with eight runs scored, seven RBIs, three
walks, and a stolen base last week. Six of his 13 hits were for
extra bases including five doubles and a home run.
He set a school record, becoming the program's all-time
hit leader in Friday's game versus Wesley. He passed the old mark
of 168 career hits as he led off the first inning with a solo home
run.
Scully, who earned an honorable mention in last
week's awards, earns the top honor as she recorded 22 saves in two
wins to help the women's
lacrosse team to a 9-1 league record and a first-round
bye in this weekend's PAC Tournament.
