Plethora of Griffins score in non-conference win

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Eight different Griffins found the back of the net in Gwynedd-Mercy's 18-12 non-league win over visiting Moravian Tuesday afternoon.

Sophomore Meghan Volz (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) led the charge with five goals and two assists while freshman Lauren Sheils (Hanover, Md./Archbishop Spaulding) added three tallies.

The Griffins (4-2) led 9-4 at the half thanks to three Bridget Gibson (Philadelphia/St. Huberts) goals. Gwynedd had their biggest lead of the game as Kalli Bass' (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) goal at the 44:03 mark of the second gave GM a 14-5 lead.

Senior Kaitlin Pope (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) also added three scores for GM.

Erica Spatz, Paige Warbick, Jillian Pagliei, and Lindsey Lustrino scored two goals apiece as Moravian (0-5).

Gwynedd-Mercy hosts Rosemont in PAC action this Thursday at 4 p.m.
