Four Griffins net three goals each in PAC
win

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - Gwynedd-Mercy won their sixth-straight
contest in a 17-12 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference win over Misericordia
Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Melissa Burks (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton),
juniors Kate Loftus (Philadelphia/St. Huberts) and Meghan
Volz (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood), and freshman Lauren
Sheils (Hanover, Md./Archbishop Spaulding) each netted three
goals apiece while junior Kalli Bass (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth
Whitemarsh) added two scores and two assists for the Griffins (9-2,
7-1 PAC).
Amanda Felte led the Cougars (6-5, 4-4 PAC) with
four goals while teammate Shannon Tinkham added three. Jamie Wargo
chipped in two scores and an assist as CM has won just once in their
last five games.
Senior Kaitlin Pope's (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop
Wood) goal midway through the first half gave Gwynedd to a 6-1 lead.
Misericordia answered three three-straight including one right at
the end of the half to cut the deficit to 6-4 at the break.
The Cougars could only get within13-9 in later in
the second before three Griffin goals in a row gave the GM a decisive
seven-goal advantage.
Gwynedd-Mercy will host Cabrini in a PAC matchup
this Saturday at 1 p.m.
