Balanced attack leads Griffins past Knights

GLENSIDE, PA - Five Griffins scored two or more goals apiece as the Griffins defeated Arcadia, 16-8, Monday afternoon in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference game.

Junior Meg Volz (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) led the charge netting four goals while Kalli Bass (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) added three scores.

The Griffins (6-2, 4-1 PAC) raced out to a 5-0 lead halfway through the first stanza and led 8-2 at the break.

Juniors Caitlin Volz (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood), Kate Loftus (Philadelphia/St. Huberts) and freshman Bridget Gibson (Philadelphia/St. Huberts) also tallied two goals each.

Junior Lauren Monte (Perkasie, Pa./Christopher Dock) notched 10 saves.

Shannon Bustin led the Knights (0-6, 0-4 PAC) with three goals and an assist.

Gwynedd will plat at Cedar Crest in another PAC tilt starting at 4 p.m.
