YORK, PA. – Sophomore Aubrey Wolf (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) scored her third game-winning goal of the season as her tally with less than 10 minutes remaining helped lift Gwynedd-Mercy to a 2-1 non-league win at York. Wolf netted her sixth goal on the season with an assist from sophomore Amanda Reppert (Oley, Pa./Boyertown) with 9:14 remaining in regulation as Gwynedd won their third in a row. Reppert helped the Griffins, who won their eighth game this season, the most since the 2000 season, break a scoreless halftime tie with her team-high 12th goal on the year in the 44th minute. But the Spartans (4-10) answered in the 55th minute on a goal from April McFarland. GM goalie Aubrey McDevitt (Narberth, Pa./Upper Merion) made seven saves, including five in the second stanza, in the win. Gwynedd-Mercy will host PAC foe Immaculata on Saturday on Senior Day. Game time is 1 p.m. |
