Score
GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Sophomore Amanda
Reppert’s (Oley, Pa./Boyertown) goal with six minutes
remaining in regulation stood up to help give new head coach Laura-Ann
Lane her first Gwynedd-Mercy College victory as the Griffins downed
Scranton, 1-0, in the season opener for both teams Friday afternoon
in a non-league matchup.
Reppert’s goal came off a pass into the circle
off the stick of freshman Rebecca Unangst (Perkasie,
Pa./Pennridge) to break a scoreless tie.
Goalie Aubrey McDevitt (Narberth,
Pa./Lower Merion) got help from her defense to notch her first shutout.
The freshman made four saves and had two defensive saves to keep
the Royals off the scoreboard.
The Griffins are back in action this Wednesday with
another non-conference game at former PAC member Arcadia starting
at 4 p.m.
