2007 Outlook

2007 brings a new transition and new energy as first-year head coach Laura-Ann Lane will look to guide the Griffins back to league predominance and make a run at the PAC Playoffs.

Up front she’ll have a variety of offensive tools in senior Mary Gerth, juniors Nicole Dowling, Liz Walton, and sophomores Amanda Reppert and Aubrey Wolf.
In the middle, senior Ashley Blackwell, junior Victoria Geppert and rookie Rebecca Unangst will shore up both ends of the field.

Defensively, seniors Jessica Griffin, Kate Loftus, and Steph Atkinson will help take pressure off the team’s netminder as youth will be served in goal this season. Sophomore Ashley McGinty and freshman Aubrey McDevitt will vie for a starting spot between the pipes.

“I am quite excited to be heading up this Griffin team. They have stepped up to each challenge presented to them and are continuing to meet and exceed the expectations that I have placed upon them for this season.” says Coach Lane.

The schedule sees some new faces as the PAC welcomes in the College of Notre Dame along with non-league games with Scranton, Wilkes, and Albright. Along with the conference slate, the Griffins will take on the defending league champs Eastern on September 19th.

“This is a group of determined athletes that have specific goals in mind for the 2007 season, the work ethic and dedication that they have shown has been phenomenal. I feel very lucky to be part of this amazing group of players.”
