Griffins clinch home playoff game; rally with two goals in 2nd half

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Two second half goals with under 10 minutes remaining was the difference as Gwynedd-Mercy put the clamps on the #4 seed in next week’s PAC Tournament with a 2-1 win over Neumann on Saturday.
The win also cements a home playoff game, the first since the 2000 season, next Saturday, with an opponent TBA.
Down 1-0, at the half, junior Victoria Geppert (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) scored the game-winner with just over seven minutes in the contest. It was her fifth goal on the year.
Moments earlier senior Ashley Blackwell (Mohrsville, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) knotted the game at 1-1 at 61:16 with her eighth tally this season.
Lauren Hood scored the lone goal for the Knights (7-12, 5-5 PAC).
The Griffins (12-6, 7-3 PAC) close out the regular season against Moravian here this Thursday in a non-league game at 4 p.m.
