Griffins get fifth shutout of the year

DOYLESTOWN, PA. – Goals from senior Ashley Blackwell (Schuylkill Valley, Pa./Mohrsville) and sophomore Amanda Reppert (Oley, Pa./Boyertown) was all Gwynedd-Mercy needed in a 2-0 non-league win at Delaware Valley Monday afternoon.

Goalie Aubrey McDevitt (Narberth, Pa./Upper Merion) notched her third shutout on the year as the freshman recorded two saves.

Reppert made it 1-0 in the 31st minute as the sophomore knocked in her team-leading 11th goal of the season. Blackwell added another in the 62nd minute of the second half for her sixth tally this year.

Gwynedd managed seven shots to the Aggies’ eight, but created 11 penalty corners, including seven in the second stanza.

The Griffins (7-5) play at York on Wednesday in another non-conference game.
