GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Cabrini got two goals from
Kerri Ricker as Gwynedd-Mercy's playoff chase was hampered in the
Cavs' 2-0 win over the Griffins in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference
game Monday afternoon.
The Griffins (7-7, 4-5 PAC) now must win their final
two league games and get a little help to make the post-season.
Cabrini (7-8, 7-3 PAC) just about cemented their place in the conference
tournament which starts next weekend.
Gwynedd had an opportunity in the first half for
a score but a penalty stroke attempt was no good.
GM pressed in the second half, producing 10 penalty
corners but were unable to find the back of the net.
After Ricker's first goal in the 29th minute, she
helped ice the game with an insurance goal in the 57th minute.
The goalie combo of junior Lauren Monte (Perkasie,
Pa./Christopher Dock) and senior Kaitlin Pope (Warminster,
Pa./Archbishop Wood) combined to make 10 saves. Cabrini keeper Elissa
Salantri recorded four stops.
Gwynedd-Mercy will host Misericordia on Wednesday
in PAC action here at 4 p.m.
