GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Junior Janine Reiner (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) scored two goals and Erin Hill (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) added a goal and an assist but it wasn't enough as Eastern held off a second-half rally by the Griffins, defeating Gwynedd-Mercy, 4-3, in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Game Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles' June Brant scored two goals, both coming in the first half to help Eastern (3-4, 3-1 PAC) to a 3-1 halftime lead. It was 4-1 at the 52:11 mark of the second with a goal from Kate Gamber.

The Griffins (3-5, 2-2 PAC), who were seeking their third-straight league win, tied to rally as junior Melissa Burks (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) assisted on goals from Hill and Reiner in the second half, the last coming with just under 10 minutes to play.

Sophomore keeper Lauren Monte (Perkasie, Pa./Christopher Dock) recorded 15 saves while Eastern goalie Rebecca Hewes made four. The Eagles outshot the Griffins, 19-5.
