Griffins see Aggies score three straight second-half goals

DOYLESTOWN, PA. - Gwynedd-Mercy dropped their third
game in a row as Delaware Valley scored three second-half goals
to defeat the Griffins, 3-2, Saturday afternoon in a non-league
game.
Junior Janine Reiner (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford)
opened the scoring in the first half with her team-leading eigth
goal on the season. She would help the Griffins (5-8) to a 2-0 lead
as she assisted on a goal from junior Erin Hill (Collegeville,
Pa./Spring-Ford) just over a minute into the second half.
Later in the stanza, the Aggie's Michelle Cernobyl
netted two goals just nine minutes apart to tie the game at 2-2.
Delaware Valley then took a 3-2 lead with a goal from Shannon Shivak
with 18:39 in the contest.
GMC netminder Kaitlin Pope (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop
Wood) posted 15 saves.
Gwynedd-Mercy entertains Alvernia in a PAC matchup
this Tuesday, October 4th at 4 p.m.
