GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Gwynedd-Mercy dropped a 2-0
decision to Alvernia Tuesday afternoon in a Pennsylvania Athletic
Conference Game.
Crusader goalie Carey Manzolillo made nine saves
and kept the Griffins (5-9, 4-4 PAC), who lost their fourth in a
row, off the scoreboard.
Gwynedd keeper Lauren Monte (Perkasie, Pa./Christopher
Dock) notched five saves as GMC outshot the Crusaders, 10-6.
Alvernia (9-3, 7-1 PAC) got first half goals from
Lauren Yoder and Megan Novogratz less than two minutes apart. From
there Manzolillo made the score stand as she recorded eight of her
nine saves in the second stanza.
Gwynedd-Mercy hosts Hood College in non-league action
this Saturday, October 8th at 1 p.m.
