Lebanon Valley 6, Gwynedd-Mercy 0

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Steph Marguglio scored a hat trick to lead Lebanon Valley to a 6-0 non-conference win over Gwynedd-Mercy in the season opener for both teams Wednesday afternoon.

The Dutchmen (1-0) jumped on the board early making it 1-0, just 19 seconds into the game. From there, Marguglio netted two of her three tallies in the first half to help LVC to a 4-0 lead at halftime.

Gwynedd-Mercy (0-1) was outshot, 27-2, and saw Lebanon Valley hold an 8-4 penalty corner edge.

Katie Pawlewicz, Casey Hines, and Abbey Gockley, combined for two saves in the shutout for LVC. Gwynedd keeper Kaitlin Pope (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) posted 12 saves.

The Griffins return to action this Saturday, September 4th as they host York College (Pa.) with a 1 p.m. start.
