Sept. 9, 2004 Albright 3, Gwynedd-Mercy 2 OT GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Angela Gardner scored twice, including the game-winner at the 84:47 mark of the first overtime to lift Albright to a 3-2 win over Gwynedd-Mercy Thursday afternoon in a non-conference tilt. Sophomore Erin Hill (Collegeville, Pa./Spring Ford) led Gwynedd-Mercy (1-3) with a goal and an assist. She set up freshman Ashley Blackwell (Mohrsville, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) with a goal with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game to tie the score at 2-2. But GMC could not convert on numerous opportunities in the offense zone, including a late charge at the end of regulation time. Garner helped the Lions (2-1) get on the board just 25 seconds into the contest with an assist from Briana Vante. Vante then added a goal later in the half to stake Albright to a 2-1 halftime lead. Freshman Lauren Monte (Perkasie, Pa./Christopher Dock) notched 10 saves while Albright keeper Kristen Ianieri recorded 20 stops. Gwynedd-Mercy returns to action this weekend as they play at Marywood on Saturday, September 11th in PAC action.
