DOYLESTOWN, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy started the 2007 season at the Delaware Valley College Invitational as the men's team finished in ninth and the women's in tenth respectively. The women's race featured two Griffins in the top 15 as sophomore Alycia Tranchitella (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Huberts) was 7th and senior Lisa Smedley (Warrington, Pa./C.B. East) took 14th. Freshman John Watts (Woodlyn, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was the Griffins' top finisher in the men's race, placing 29th out of 152 runners. Both squads are back in action next weekend at the Dukes Invitational hosted by Cumberland County (N.J.) Community College. |
