PHILADELPHIA – Senior Lisa Smedley (Warrington, Pa./C.B. East) was the top female finisher and R.J. Every (Harleysville, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) represented the men’s team well at the Philadelphia Metro Championships at the Belmont Plateau. Smedley placed 14th out of 150 runners in a time of 21:09.29 on the 5k course as the women’s team was 11th overall. Sophomore Victoria English (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) was 63rd. Every was 22nd overall out of over 158 runners pacing the men’s team to a 10th place finish. Ralph Ricciardi (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) and Mike Pflueger (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) finished in the top 50. Both teams will compete on Friday at Division I Lehigh University in the Paul Short Invitational starting at 2 p.m. |
