Women take second, men are third at Cabrini Invite

PHILDAELPHIA - At the Cabrini College Invitational at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, the Griffin Women's team had three runners finish in the top 15, to help squad place second while the men's team took third out of 10 teams.

Alycia Tranchitella (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Huberts) was seventh overall, Lisa Smedley (Warrington, Pa./C.B. East) was ninth and Katie Mehaffey (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Huberts) was 15th in the 5K race featuring 57 runners.

On the men's side, last year's men's individual champion, senior Kevin Bunt (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) finished in 6th place while freshman Daniel Geary (Hatfield, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) was 14th as the men were 3rd overall.

The Griffins are back in action next Saturday at the CTC Championships at DeSales University.
