GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Double digits from senior
Michelle Sgrillo (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal Dougherty),
junior Karen Tierney (Philadelphia, Pa./Kennedy-Kenrick),
and sophomore Kristy Cramp (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley)
lifted Gwynedd-Mercy past Wesley, 76-59, in a Pennsylvania Athletic
Conference Game Monday evening.
With the win, the Griffins (11-2, 5-0 PAC) now have
won five in a row. The Wolverines drop to 4-10 and 2-5 in league
play.
Cramp sank five three-pointers finishing with 15
points while Sgrillo grinded out 10 points and five boards. Tierney
netted 11 and dished out 10 assists.
A 15-3 run in the first half opened up a 33-22 halftime
lead for Gwynedd. In the second half, GM led by as much as 27 points.
GM hit for 11 treys en route to a 43% (29-of-66)
shooting night. Wesley connected on just 19-of-57 (33%) of its shots.
Domonique Barrett scored 16 and Annette Nacrelli
added 11 for the Wolverines.
Gwynedd-Mercy plays at Cabrini on Thursday in a
key PAC matchup. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
