in PAC Tournament

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - A 26-9 run to open the second
half helped break open a close first period as Gwynedd-Mercy downed
Neumann, 86-57, in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Game Thursday
night.
The Griffins (20-2, 14-0 PAC) extended their win
streak to 13 games and reached 20-win plateau for the eighth time
under head coach Keith Mondillo. The win also guaranteed the Griffins
the top seed and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.
Junior Karen Tierney (Philadelphia/Kennedy-Kenrick)
led all scorers with 18 points and added nine assists. Beccie
Strohecker (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) came off the bench
to chip in 13 points and seven rebounds.
Tierney's three-pointer with 11:53 to play capped
the scoring run and gave Gwynedd a 64-34 edge.
Brittany Wetts netted 16 for the Knights (16-6,
10-3 PAC) and Caitlin Agnew added 12 points and pulled down a game-high
11 boards.
Gwynedd-Mercy plays at Arcadia in PAC action this
Saturday at 1 p.m.
