Vandiver nets 1,000th career point in PAC win

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Senior Ashley Vandiver (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds en route to her 1,000th career point as Gwynedd-Mercy won its seventh-straight in a 72-27 win over Eastern in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Game Monday evening.

Vandiver, who needed 10 to reach the milestone, netted the record bucket at the 15:47 mark of the second half.

Sophomore Kristy Cramp (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley) also added 10 points while junior Karen Tierney (Philadelphia, Pa./Kennedy-Kenrick) dished out seven assists.

The Griffins (14-2, 8-0 PAC) scored 32 points off of 24 Eastern turnovers and outrebounded the Eagles, 58-37.

Raya Shores scored 12 points and pulled down seven boards for Eastern (1-14, 0-8 PAC).

Gwynedd-Mercy continues its four-game homestand with a PAC game against Marywood this Thursday at 6 p.m.
