Griffins cap perfect league mark with win on Senior Night

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - Gwynedd-Mercy closed out the regular season with an 89-36 win over Cedar Crest on Senior Night at the Griffin Complex.

Senior Jackie Dougherty (Roslyn, Pa./Abington) and sophomore Kristy Cramp (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley) each scored 13 points and sophomore Bridget Morrin (Philadelphia/St. Huberts) added 12 for the Griffins (23-2, 16-0 PAC) who cap a perfect Pennsylvania Athletic Conference mark for the second year in a row.

Gwynedd, who also won their 16th-straight in the process, led 47-18 at the half.

Ashley Bechtel led the Falcons (1-19, 0-16 PAC) with 20 points and added nine rebounds and six blocks.

GM hit 11 treys on the night, shooting just 36% from the floor but holding a 53-41 rebound edge.

The Griffins, who earned a first-round bye in next week's PAC Tournament, will host a semifinal game here on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
