PAC Coaches Select Alvernia as Favorite
in Women's Basketball
ASTON, PA. -- Alvernia College's women's basketball
team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the Pennsylvania
Athletic Conference (PAC) coaches poll. The defending-champion Lady
Crusaders received 10 of 12 first-place votes and earned 70 points
in the poll to outpoint 2004-05 runner-up Gwynedd-Mercy College.
Gwynedd-Mercy earned the other two first-place votes
and finished in second place in the PAC North, earning 62 points.
Wesley College was selected to win the PAC South,
earning 67 points.
College Misericordia (48), Marywood University (34),
Arcadia University (26) and Cedar Crest College (212) rounded out
the voting in the North.
In the South, Cabrini College was selected as the
runner-up with 62 points, followed by Rosemont College (41), Eastern
University (35), Neumann College (24) and Immaculata University
(23).
