Sophomore Jackie Dougherty (Roslyn, Pa./Abington)
scored 13 of her team-high 15 points in the second half to lead
GMC (4-9, 3-1 PAC).
Megan Torbik and Katie Linder each scored 18 points
respectively as the Ramblers (7-3, 4-1 PAC) won their fourth-in-a-row.
The Griffins trailed 24-19 at the half in a defensive
battle before a 13-4 run by the Ramblers early in the stanza opened
up the lead.
Torbik gave Rosemont a 13-point lead, it's biggest
of the game and capped an 8-2 run, as she drained a three-pointer
with 2:39 to play.
But a bucket from sophomore Michelle Sgrillo
(Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal Dougherty) and a trey from Dougherty,
the team's only basket from downtown, cut the deficit to 54-46 with
1:36 remaining.
Gwynedd-Mercy shot 23-of-55 (41.8%) for the game
but were just 1-of-12 from behind the three-point line. Rosemont
hit on 21-of-46 of its shots from the floor and held a 34-31 rebound
edge.
