January 31, 2005 Gwynedd-Mercy 75, Marywood 60 SCRANTON, PA. - Three players scored in double figures led by Jackie Dougherty (Roslyn, Pa./Abington) as Gwynedd-Mercy defeated Marywood, 75-60, to extend their win streak to four games. The sophomore netted a career-high 20 points and added 11 rebounds for her second double-double on the season. Freshman Lauren Healy (Glenmoore, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) chipped in 16 points and Karen Tierney (Philadelphia, Pa./Kennedy-Kenrick) contributed 10 to improve the Griffins to 8-9 and 7-1 in the PAC. Alicia Woodruff led the Pacers (6-11, 4-6 PAC) with 22 points and 16 boards. Ann Brennan added 10 points and six rebounds as Marywood shot just 30.7% (23-of-75). Gwynedd-Mercy led 40-21 at halftime and connected on 42.9% (27-of-63) shooting for the game. The team hosts Alvernia on Wednesday, February 2nd in an important PAC North game here at the Griffin Complex. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. |
