Gwynedd-Mercy 69, Immaculata 45

IMMACULATA, PA. - Gwynedd-Mercy improved to 5-1 in the PAC with a 69-45 win at Immaculata Wednesday evening.

Junior Rebecca Frederick (North Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May) scored a team-high 12 points and grabbed five rebounds. Junior Jillian Chiarantona (Abington, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy Academy) and freshman Beccie Strohecker (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) each added nine points for the Griffins, who move to 6-9 overall.

Back-to-back-to-back three-pointers from Chiarantona and Strohecker ignited an 11-1 run to end the first half to put Gwynedd-Mercy up 33-14.

The Griffins hit 35% from the floor including 6-of-20 from beyond the three-point arc. GMC also held a 54-34 rebound advantage.

Meg Legere led Immaculata (3-11, 1-6 PAC) with 18 points and teammate Jamie Adams chipped in 13. The Mighty Macs shot just 23% in the first half and 30% for the game.

Gwynedd-Mercy will host Misericordia on Saturday, January 29th in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action tipping off at 2 p.m.
