DeSales 82, Gwynedd-Mercy 59
GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - No. 21 DeSales received a
game-high 24 points from Alyssa Antolick as the Bulldogs defeated
Gwynedd-Mercy, 82-59, Tuesday evening in non-conference action.
Antolick was 10-of-16 from the floor, adding six
rebounds and six assists while teammate Holly Liebl notched 15 points
and 12 boards as DeSales won their seventh in a row.
Junior Jillian Chiarantona (Abington, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy
Academy) led the Griffins with 18 points. Forward Jackie Dougherty
(Roslyn, Pa./Abington) recorded her first double-double of the
season, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
DeSales (8-1) started the game on a 13-0 run and
kept a 13-point cushion at the break, 34-21.
Two Jenn Osborne free throws gave the Bulldogs their
biggest lead of the game, 54-30, with 11 minutes to play.
The Griffins (3-8) would get as close as 69-55 with
just under three minutes in the half after Chiarantona connected
on her sixth trey of the night.
Gwynedd-Mercy will host Cedar Crest on Wednesday,
January 12th in a PAC contest here at the Griffin Complex starting
at 7 p.m.
