Profs hand Griffins loss in non-league action

GLASSBORO, N.J. - Rowan's Thomas Baker scored a game-high 24 points as the Griffins fell to the Profs, 92-76, in a non-conference game Friday evening.

Freshman Lemeire Talley (Blackwood, N.J./Highland) led GM with 11 points while Matt Johnson (Philadelphia, Pa./Strawberry Mansion) added 10.

A 16-6 run by Rowan to end the first half put the Profs (7-2) up 57-35 at the break.

Gwynedd (4-3) found themselves down 69-44 in the second half before a 16-1 run over a four minute span pulled the Griffins within 10 midway throught the stanza, but GMC could not get any closer.

Gwynedd-Mercy was outrebounded, 47-30, but shot 48.3% (28-of-58) for the game including 12 three-pointers, a season-high.

The Griffins will take on Elmhurst College in the 2006 RDV Sportsplex Tournament in Orlando, Fla. on Wednesday, December 20th at 4 p.m.
