Griffins sweep Knights for fourth win in a row

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - Gwynedd-Mercy swept a PAC twinbill
from visiting Neumann as the Griffins have now won five of their
last six contests including their last four in a row.
Senior J.B. Meadows (Pennsville, N.J./Pennsville)
knocked in a career-best three RBIs and Josh Thomas (Severn,
Md./Cardinal Gibbons) scattered seven hits and didn't allow an earned
run in an 9-2 win in game one.
Meadows went 2-for-3 on the day with a big two-run
single in the fifth. Thomas notched two strikeouts and no walks
in the complete game victory.
Chris Dascher was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Neumann
in game one.
The second game saw the Griffins plate early runs
in the first and second to go on and win 10-4.
Mark Mattes (Doylestown, Pa./C.B. East) went
2-for-3 with three runs scored. Matt Martin (Pottstown, Pa./St.
Pius X) and Scott Carroll (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock
South) each added two RBIs apiece.
Matt Daley (Philadelphia/Roman Catholic)
fanned six over six innings of work allowing just one earned run
on seven hits and one walk.
Brian Chesnick was 2-for-3 with a two-run double
for the Knights.
Gwynedd-Mercy will take on Eastern in a rescheduled
doubleheader here tomorrow at 1 p.m.
