Griffins get season high in runs

ASTON, PA. - Sophomore Ken Bengtson (Jamison, Pa./C.B. East) had four hits and the trio of Anthony Capella (Philadelphia/Roman Catholic), Nick DiEnno (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) and Scott Carroll (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) all knocked in three RBIs apiece to lead Gwynedd-Mercy to a season-high in runs, in an 18-12 PAC win at Neumann on Friday.

DiEnno had a pair of RBI doubles while Bengtson stole two bases and Capella added an RBI triple.

The Griffins (12-8, 6-5 PAC) had big innings in the third and the sixth, plating five runs each. Capella's two-run single highlighted the third while DiEnno knocked in two with a double in the sixth.

Freshman Albert DiDomenico (Philadelphia/Neumann-Goretti) also added a pair of RBI doubles, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Chris Dascher led Neumann (2-15, 2-10 PAC), going 3-for-5 with four RBIs and a home run.

The two teams will meet tomorrow in a doubleheader here in Gwynedd Valley starting at 11 a.m.
