Daley, McMenamin named to All-Region Team
Pair recognized for outstanding play at NCAA
Tournament Regional
BOYERTOWN, PA. - Senior Matt Daley (Philadelphia/Roman
Catholic) and sophomore Tim McMenamin (Maple Shade,
N.J./Maple Shade) were named to the 2007 NCAA Tournament Mid-Atlantic
Tournament All-Region Team.
Daley started one game and appeared in relief in
another, allowing just one run in 10.2 innings of work, posting
a 0.84 ERA. The senior added four strikeouts and three walks. Daley
pitched five innings in the Griffins' first game of the tournament
against Frostburg. He entered in relief on just two day's rest allowing
just two hits over five-plus innings, to pick up the win over the
College of New Jersey.
McMenamin batted .474 (9-of-19) with six RBIs, four
runs scored and two home runs in four games. The third baseman also
tabbed a .789 slugging percentage and a .474 on-base pct notching
at least two hits in each game. He had three hits, including a two-run
walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th to beat Frostburg State.
The Griffins went 2-2 at the regional tournament
falling to Johns Hopkins, 3-1, on Friday night. Gwynedd ends the
season at 33-12, tying a school mark for wins in a season.
