GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Gwynedd-Mercy allowed a season-high
in runs as the College of New Jersey posted an 11-1 non-league win
Tuesday afternoon.
The top-ranked (ABCA) Lions scored runs in the first
four innings to build a 7-0 lead.
Senior Ryan McMahon (Upper Darby, Pa./Monsignor
Bonner) had two of Gwynedd-Mercy's six hits.
The Lion's Chris Wilson went 3-for-4 with two doubles,
two RBIs, and two runs scored. Charlie Iacono also added three hits
for TCNJ.
The Griffins (11-7) got their lone run in the eighth
as junior Anthony Capella (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic),
who led off the inning with a triple to right, scored on a sacrifice
fly from sophomore Chris Corkery (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman
Catholic).
GM travels to Reading, Pa. on Friday for a rematch
of last season's PAC Championship, as Gwynedd takes on Alvernia
starting at 3 p.m.
