GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Sophomore Kyle Reynolds
(Darby, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) notched his eighth save on the season
in a 4-2 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference win over Marywood on Friday
breaking his own school record he set last season.
Reynolds got three popups in the ninth to nail down
the win for starter Matt Daley (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic).
The junior allowed just two runs (one earned) on six hits while
fanning four as he lasted into the seventh to pick up his sixth
victory on the year.
Senior Troy Peiffer (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford)
broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth with an RBI single, driving home Anthony
Capella (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic). Capella reached
on an error to start the inning, stole second and third and scored
on Peiffer's two-out single.
Freshman Nick DiEnno (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop
Ryan) added an insurance run in the eighth with an RBI double as
the Griffins (26-11, 16-3 PAC) won their fifth-straight game.
Chris Lewis was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and
two walks while starter Mark Granqiust pitched all eight innings,
allowing four runs (two earned) over six hits with two walks and
a strikeout for the Pacers (17-20, 7-12 PAC).
The teams will meet tomorrow in Scranton, Pa. in
a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
