Baseball Team goes for the fences at Citizens
Bank Park
Griffins have hitting contest at Phillies' home
stadium
The Gwynedd-Mercy Baseball Team spent Monday morning
at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, by taking
part in the Coca-Cola Batting Challenge, sponsored in part by Williamson's
Food Service, Coca-Cola, and the Phillies.
The players were divided into two squads, a red
team, and a white team with each batter getting 10 outs to collect
as many hits. Each hit, depending on its location, were counted
as points and in the end, the team with the most points would win.
When it was all said and done, the red team triumphed.
Head Coach Paul Murphy and his players reveled in
the opportunity to be able to step on a major league field and play
some ball.
