Mathesian, Mattes, Thomas honored in weekly awards
Trio earn honorable mention
GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Senior Jen Mathsian (Aston,
Pa./Garnet Valley), sophomore Mark Mattes (Doylestown, Pa./C.B.
East), and junior Jeremiah Thomas (Doylestown, Pa./Plumstead
Christian) all were honored by the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference
in their weekly awards for the week ending April 16th.
Mathesian scored five goals in the Griffins' only
contest of the week. She netted four of those goals in the second
half as part of an 11-goal stanza in a 16-7 win at Misericordia.
Mattes batted .438 (7-for-16) in five games with
seven RBIs, six runs, four doubles, two stolen bases, and two walks
with a .688 slugging pct., in a 3-2 PAC week. Had an extra base
hit in all but one game last week.
Thomas was 2-0 in league play
at #1 Singles last week earning straight-set wins over opponents
from Immaculata and Wesley.
