Dougherty named PAC Player of the Week
Junior nabs first weekly women's basketball honor of the season
GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Junior Jackie Dougherty
(Roslyn, Pa./Abington) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference
Women's Basketball Player of the Week for November 18-27.
Dougherty averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per
game in a 2-1 start for the Griffins.
The 5-9 forward helped her team to a third-place finish at the season-opening
Marymount Tip-Off Tournament in Arlington, Va. In the win over Trinity
(Tx.), she was one rebound shy of a double-double finishing with a
game-high 18 points. She also added four assists, a block, and a steal.
In the second game against the host Saints, she
totaled 14 points, four boards, and three assists. She capped her
weekend off in the 3rd-place consolation game against Gettysburg,
recording 11 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
The Griffins play at Wesley this Wednesday, November
30th in a PAC matchup at 6 p.m.
