Dougherty named PAC Women's Basketball Player of
the Week

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Junior Jackie Dougherty
(Roslyn, Pa./Abington) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference
(PAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending
January 8. Dougherty averaged 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7
assists per game as the Griffins swept three games during the week.
Dougherty was named the Most Valuable Player at
the Days Inn Classic, where Gwynedd-Mercy defeated Washington and
Gettysburg.
In the 77-60 win over Washington, she netted 13
points, grabbed four boards, and had six steals. Against the host
Bullets, she scored a game-high 21 points and added five rebounds
and three assists. In last Saturday's 82-40 PAC win at Marywood,
she totaled nine points, three assists, and three steals.
On the men's side, Chris DelBrocco (Philadelphia,
Pa./St. John Neumann) was selected to the PAC Men's Basketball Honorable
Mention List. The junior poured in a game-high 20 points and added
nine boards, four assists, and three steals in the team's lone game
of the week, an 82-67 PAC win at Marywood. He went 6-of-15 from the
floor and 6-of-8 from the line.
