Laura-Ann Lane brings a wealth of coaching experience as she takes the reigns of the Gwynedd-Mercy Field Hockey Program. No stranger to the PAC, Lane was head coach at former member institution Arcadia and most recently Roanoke of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. From 1998 to 2003 at Arcadia, Lane had her teams in post-season play in five of the six seasons at the helm including a PAC Championship appearance in 2002, in which she was named the PAC Coach of the Year. She also mentored over 23 All-PAC performers and 55 All-PAC Academic standouts as well as three STX/NFHCA Regional All-Americans during her time. Moving on to Roanoke in 2004, she helped guide the Maroons to three ODAC Tournament appearances, along with nine All-ODAC and Academic All-Americans. Lane stays active in the community, participating in clinics and camps. She works with the Merestead Sports Camp, one of the oldest camps for girls in the country, and was site director for Revolution Sports Camps. As an undergraduate at Beaver College, Lane was named PIAWA Philadelphia Player of the Year, a three-time all-conference selection in both field hockey and softball, and was twice named the Beaver College Most Valuable Athlete. She is a member of the NFHCA and a 2008 Women's Coaching Academy (WC) graduate |
